~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
{First, some notes on things!}
That's going to be a new category. {FSNOT, P, H, F, R}
Just kidding.
Maybe not.
- Today is the last day of the giveaway for a bag that is designed just for us in that it is the correct size for storing your Little Oratory book, safe and sound, wrapped in soft flannel, and most importantly, VINTAGE LINEN. With TURQUOISE flowers, dear reader! And various percentages off in the store for those who are in the sad state of not winning. So head on over to enter.
- Also, think about posting your own little prayer table, icon corner, or little oratory pictures on our new, dedicated link-up — after you've posted your {pretty, happy, funny, real} post here of course. Basically, we want to know everything you are up to, and then we'll share it with the internet! If you have posted here with said prayer table, etc., in the past, then just grab the code for the button, slap it in that same post, and throw it up on this new one.
- If you post on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or what have you, remember the hashtag — #LittleOratory. There are already so many on Instagram that I'm behind!
Just know that the dearest wish of my heart is that you have a happy home and that you and I and all of us meet in heaven. All of this book talk and oratory talk and Liturgy of the Hours talk is about that. We need a friend on the way… we will support each other.

This past weekend we had a semi-spontaneous graduation party for the Bridgeration (as we like to call her) and her friend Helena.
Two rather reticent home-schooled young ladies who really needed a party thrown for them, now that they are both Thomas More College bound!
It was a gathering of people particular to them, and we lucked out with a beautiful day!
{happy}
What I love about this group of families is the utter willingness to a) sing b) play instruments c) dance and d) have a great time with all the ages!
{funny}
It's this great spirit that brings you moments like these: big brother on his knees to waltz with little sister:
{real}
I made up a cocktail for the party (not for the high school graduates, don't worry!) but I don't have room to go into it here. So I will post about it tomorrow! And yes, it involves rhubarb from the freezer, not the garden!

That college looks amazing. Quite makes me want to return to studying!
Wishing them both well,
Liz

I love the dancing photos! Congratulations, Bridget!!

I have more of a question, I want to link up to your Little Oratory series but can’t figure out how to load buttons onto blogger. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Leila says
Jennifer, have you copied and pasted the code that’s in the box under the button into your “HTML” view on your post draft? Do that and then hit save. Then go on with your posting. When you go back to “compose” it should be there…
(The code is on this post: http://www.likemotherlikedaughter.org/2014/06/a-visual-gets-you-moving-i-always-think/ )

Congratulations Bridget! It looks like everyone had a great time.

I just love the {pretty, happy, funny, real} link-up/blog post idea. In preparation for posting, I find myself looking for the beauty and humor in every day life. It’s such an encouragement.

What a nice graduation party!

Congratulations, Bridget! Looks like y’all had a wonderful party! Friends and families who sing and dance and make music are indeed the best. Hooray for Thomas More as well!
(And I must say, leave it to Auntie Leila to concoct a rhubarb cocktail! Too funny. I trust it had floating strawberries as well.)

She’s going there! Ohh man, how wonderful! that is the college of my dreams for my kids.
Please one day write not he college application process? That is just the scariest thing for us who are going to be graduating kids soon.
Congratulations, Bridget!

Congratulations to Bridget! The party looks like it was a great time! My kind of people for sure 😉

Congratulations Bridget! On an entirely frivolous note, I’m so pleased to see she has a friend called Helena. I have a lovely six year old Helena and it’s quite a rare name ( here in the north of England anyway) so it’s nice to come across another one x
Anne says
Congratulations to Bridget! What lovely pictures of a lovely time you had!
And, do share the deets on the rhubarb cocktail…most intriguing! 😀
Julie says
Oh, what a great {p, h, f, r}! Or rather, {FSNOT, P, H, F, R}. 😉 Congratulations to Bridget! And can I admit how jealous I am of those kids for growing up in a group of friends in which playing/singing/dancing is enjoyed in this way? It would have been my childhood/teenage fantasy, if I’d known enough to think of it. Heck, I’d like to party like that now! (Where to find some instrumentalist friends…)
Stephanie says
What a wonderful celebration of life! Music and dancing wow! God bless you Bridget!
Kathy@9peas says
Congratulations to Bridget! Thomas Moore College is wonderful, I wish we lived close enough for the boys to go and still be near home. Noah is looking at their graduate programs though, and I guess since he is nearly 22 I have to let him feel free to move away…not easy, but I’m happy for him to follow his dreams!
A rhubarb cocktail??? This I need to hear about!
bobbi @ revolution of love says
Congratulation! How wonderful that you were able to celebrate and enjoy each others company. 🙂
Rayna says
Congratulations to Bridget, her friends, and their families! (Also, what a backyard!!!)
Leane says
Lovely!

The deck looks great; and it’s amazing how much bigger it looks full of people. Gives a sense of scale, I guess. And people are why you made it so nice, I know. Congrats to Bridget and all of you!
