The weekly ‘little of this, little of that” feature from Like Mother, Like Daughter!
Well, I'm not going to say anything. I mean, I'm not going to say that I have a big announcement, but I will say that there is a big announcement to be made, and that you can expect that said announcement will be announced this coming week!
I'll leave it to your skills of inference to take it from there. This is me holding my tongue. {smirk! wink!} Hint: it's been a very happy day!
This week's links!
- It seems that a little Flannery O'Connor is in order this week, because two separate people led me to the same page on a {b&p} suggestion, and I take that as a sign. You can click here to hear the authoress herself read A Good Man is Hard to Find aloud, and click here to read about her denouncing Ayn Rand.
- For the gardeners out there: some interesting information on Jewelweed, which apparently is a weed worth keeping around. Good for the bees! And not invasive. So go for the bindweed instead…
- A short and persuasive read from Bad Catholic about the potential of words and prayers to shape our minds, sent by dear reader Kristen: Oh, for a beautiful memory!
- A little cardboard box playhouse inspiration. Although, just a reminder – my two cents: the more “finished” the playhouse, the less interesting it's going to be for your kids. As cute as this is, it is probably not as appealing to a child as a blank box and a white marker would be…
- My favorite from this week, courtesy of my girl LJ, a comparison between paper and electronic texts and the pros and cons of each: Why the Smart Reading Device of the Future May Be… Paper. From Wired magazine.

Yay!!!! I’ll hold my tongue and reserve more comments for when the BIG announcement is made 🙂
Thank you so much for the link to FOConnor’s voice! I adore her short stories.

Thanks for the links and for keeping things hush, hush. Looking forward to the announcement.

Oh, hooray and Deo Gratias!
Thanks for the interesting links, as always. Quite diverse this week. My electronic-device-despising children were amused by some of the ‘research’ in the article on books. As for jewelweed – we first investigated the stuff when we were finding azure colored mouse droppings. 🙂

Yes, indeed — do go for the bindweed (which I am dong here lately, too). Thanks for the mention, and the chance to visit you as a happy side-effect.
