~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!
Last week was hot here. Really, legitimately hot. Hot, sticky, humid… I'm so glad I saved up my complaining for the summer because I am really just not cut out for “Heat Index of 105-108” kind of weather.
When it's this hot, I know how to do two things: play in the water and hide in the shade. Since Molly's tummy was a little upset, we weren't able to camp out at the splash park the way we would've otherwise. So we drew all the shades and curtains to keep out the hot sun and played inside. By the weekend, we were going a little stir crazy, and had to resort to desperate measures.
To be specific, we turned our living room into an obstacle course.
It sure wasn't pretty. (I somehow didn't manage to get a shot of the whole thing, but it was chaos. I was twitching a little bit.)
But I think it can be filed under {happy}, {funny}, and definitely {real}.
This is right in the middle; this section of the course was called “Pillow Ridge.” It involved every sofa cushion we own, plus the ottoman.
Molly loved watching Pippo run through the course, and did her best to get in on the action, too.
Actually, we all gave it a shot — I'm proud to say that I had the fastest time, and that I still know how to do a somersault. No one took pictures of that, though. What a shame!

Oh my goodness, that heat! I can barely manage the 90 degree days here in PA! Hang in there, such sweet beautiful children!

That’s something my kids love to do in the living room….pillows, blankets, tents!! It looks like yours are having a grand, old time (Molly’s expression is so cute) and, yes, I would’ve liked to have seen a picture of the somersault! 🙂
Blessings, Leane

Wow, that is hot. I don’t do well with hot either, although I have to say 66 degrees at the beach for 5 hours was n picnic either…lol. It’s been a weird summer.

Yikes! I hope you have good air conditioning.
The obstacle course looks like fun. Way to be creative.
