I don't usually do giveaways, because I like to have cozy chats here and they wear me out a little, to be honest (the giveaways, not the chats.)
But I have two giveaways in mind that I think you will really love.
Today we will do the first — a giveaway of Daria Sockey's book, which she will sign! It's called The Everyday Catholic's Guide to the Liturgy of the Hours.
This book fits in with the new book, The Little Oratory: A Beginner's Guide to Praying in the Home, that I've written with David Clayton (and that has illustrations by our own Deirdre).
David and I recommend Daria's book in our Resources section, so winning now will get you that far ahead of the game. She gives you a handy guide to using a breviary and praying the Liturgy of the Hours. Where we emphasize praying together as a family, Daria gets you started with your own personal prayer, and of course, that's very helpful.
Daria explains everything in a straightforward way. You will get it, and your prayer life will be improved in a very specific way: it will be a conscious part of the whole universal Church at prayer. (It's not just for Catholics, either. Everyone will experience a great sense of unity with Christians everywhere by praying the Liturgy of the Hours, because it's a cycle of Scripture and teachings, mainly from the early Church, that takes you right through the Bible and the Liturgical Year.)
So to win The Everyday Catholic's Guide to the Liturgy of the Hours, simply leave a comment! In a week we will announce the winner.
Meanwhile, back to cozy chatting.
Want to see the socks I made for The Artist's birthday? They came about when I was desperate for a portable project as well as a gift for him (his birthday comes in January, at my maximum “gifting deficit” phase). As he showed a lot of appreciation for hand knits (and by a lot, I mean I heard tales of him waiting impatiently for the other pair I made him to come out of the laundry), it worked out. This was before the “drone yarn delivery” and I could only scrounge up Paton's red worsted and that fun Tweed worsted from my meager stash.
But I actually sort of get a huge kick out of the red and the brown together. It might be one of my favorite combinations! I decided to add that cable, even though I had foresworn cable socks altogether, ever again, after these deceptively cute ones.
The reason being that it's all very well and good to cable one thing, but making sure you have correctly cabled the second thing (as in, two socks) so that they come out even is hard for me. I'm sort of pathetic about knowing which row to cable on, despite reading a vast number of tutorials on the interwebs about how easy it is.
But I forged ahead. I didn't refrain from making it complicated. That's how you know it's me.
My cables had five stitches in them, which meant that the cable strands are not evenly divided (it's just how it worked out for 52 stitches, dividing them up and putting in a nice amount of other stitches, leaving four sets of five for the cables).
So then they have to twine around sort of opposite to each other to balance out, right?
So thus, my mind had to 1. count rows with a high rate of failure and 2. keep in mind which strand, the one with 2 stitches or the one with 3, was going around which, in which direction.
But whatever.
I think they're cute. Here on Ravelry for all the good my sketchy directions will do you!
And how about this adorable yarn bowl that dear Christina‘s husband made, and that her children gave me? Is it not sa-weet??? Maybe we need a giveaway for one of those, hmmm? (But that's not what the next giveaway is. Still. Makes me think…)
I'm linking with Ginny's Yarn Along! Be sure to say hi if you're from over there, and enter the giveaway by leaving a comment!
majellamom says
Would love the book! I have been trying in the past couple months to do some of the liturgy of the hours, and so far manage to do Lauds several times a week…but sometimes it is just confusing! If I don’t win the book, I may just have to buy it one of these days 🙂
Jenny says
Count me in on the giveaway!
That bowl looks fantastic. Yarn and ceramics. Heaven!
Shannon says
Those socks!!! And the yarn bowl is wonderful!
Cristina says
Yay! Count me in for the giveaway! Lovely socks! I’m in a “crochet phase” right now but your socks made me want to go back to knitting! I love cables!
Amy says
I always look forward to your post. I would love to win. A habit of Christian tenets is one everyone would benefit from.
Amelia says
My husband and I can’t wait for your book. I guess we need this one, too. 🙂
Salome Ellen says
I’d love to have the book to read and then pass along. Our family has been doing Evening Prayer together for 20+ years, and I’ve been doing Morning Prayer for about 10. So I know my way around a breviary, but I have friends who think I’m a little crazy! This book looks like great backup.
.
Anne says
I would love to win, my prayer life needs a good kick!
Those socks are great. I hope to learn to knit someday.
Toni Graham says
I would love to win the book on the Liturgy of the Hours!
Whitney says
Very interested in the book. 🙂
Mary Thornton says
Those socks are fantastic! And the book sounds pretty great too 🙂
Amanda says
I’d love to win! I had this book on my wish lust then forgot about it when I had gift card money. Looking forward to your book tremendously.
Amanda says
List – wish I could edit that!
Leila says
I kind of giggle at the idea of a “wish lust”!
Emily B says
Would love the book! I have gotten out of the practice of praying Liturgy of the Hours and could you a jump start to get back to it. 🙂
Also, love, love, love the socks! Cables are on my list of things to try soon.
Mel says
Both books sound great! BTW, I can’t believe how well you have picked up knitting! How long has it been, 3 years or so since you first picked it up and decided to learn? Your creations just keep getting nicer, and even the first ones were pretty good!
Monica says
I’m going to knit socks someday! And I’m also going to pray the Liturgy of the Hours consistently someday!
Sylvia says
The book would be great. Thanks.
Rachel Nicholson says
Yay for free books! Also that brown tweed is really fun. Love the socks 🙂
Jean says
Big fan of your blog. Keep up the wonderful work! The book would be delightful!
Lindsey says
The knitting bowl – what a neat idea! Very cool. As far as the book, I would love my prayer life to be improved in a very specific way!
Kris says
I can’t wait to get your book, and would love to win this one! So thankful for you, your advice has improved my life in so many ways.
Kareena says
Oooh, thanks for the giveaway. I would love to win. It looks like a great book.
Heidi F. says
I’m not much of a blog commenter, but I look forward to your posts so much! You have become a mentor to me as I struggle through these days surrounded by little people. Thank you for sharing so much of you with us!
And I am BEYOND excited to read your book!!!
Angela says
Yay! I’d love to win this book. I love your cute new socks:)
Caitlin says
I’d love to win that book! And I want to take up knitting soon. I crochet, but I haven’t made much recently. Better get started on something!
Terry says
I would love to win the book! (And the socks are FABULOUS!)
Elizabeth says
I would love to win that book, since I am planning to buy yours when our next paycheck comes through. Thanks so much for offering this! Also, very nice job on the socks. 🙂
Sarah King says
The yarn bowl is such a great idea! My grandmother-in-law uses a 2 liter soda bottle for the same purpose (the only reason she would EVER buy soda), but the bowl is so much cuter!
And thanks for the giveaway of course.
Amanda says
I’d love to win that book. As a protestant, I’ve been curious about the Liturgy of the Hours, and I keep getting overwhelmed whenever I start to look into it. This would help, I think.
Julie says
Long-time lurker, first time poster! Would love to win the book!
Kathia says
Would love a book like that! And the yarn bowl… that’s genius. I was crocheting my own little “bluebird of happiness” the other day, and yarn ball was rolling everywhere on my bed. Hmmm… I wonder if we could carve one or make it out of air-dry modeling clay… homeschool project here we come!
Melanie Sue says
Well, today is my birthday, so what a good present this would be! I’ve looked a bit into how to pray the Liturgy of the Hours but every time I get overwhelmed.
Sara says
Very cute socks! I didn’t notice the cable issue; they look very cozy.
I’d love a copy of that book. It’s been on my wish list for a while.
Kate says
I’d love to win the book!
I got a yarn bowl for Christmas in 2012 — something I NEVER would have purchased for myself but that I now hate knitting without. 🙂
Rain says
Those socks are fabulous! My knitting has improved this year but socks still seem very scary.
I’d love an opportunity to win the book. I have listened to the liturgy of the hours online and would love to know how to do it on my own.
Bless you!
Tacy says
Looks like a fabulous book. And I honestly can’t wait to get a copy of your book as well as put it to good use in our home!!
Catherine says
I don’t knit but that bowl and those socks make me want to start!
Jeanie says
Love the yarn bowl! Love your blog!
Heidi says
I would love to win the book. I’ve always been curious about how to pray the liturgy of the hours. Thanks for the chance!
Annalisa says
Oh, I so understand the complication of counting rows and knowing when to turn a cable. Right now I’m working on a cabled baby sweater that fortunately doesn’t have to match anything else, ’cause I am definitely off track. Looks cute enough when it stands on its own, though. A guide to the Liturgy of the Hours sounds helpful! I find myself lost with turning pages and trying to figure out where I’m supposed to be. I’ll have to add it to my list – how nice to have a chance to win it!
Sarah says
I have been wanting to learn how to do the Liturgy of the Hours for some time now.
Amanda says
Oh! I have been wanting to pray the liturgy of the hours but I just don’t quite “get” how. Thank you for such a lovely giveaway! I love the socks as well, I have been meaning to start a pair for myself but, well, the best laid plans…
Ashley says
What cozy socks! Keeping track of the uneven-stitch cables would have been entirely too much for my brain; I admire your perseverance! I do love cables, though. And mmmmmm, that yarn bowl is yummy.
I’m currently working on two pairs of these: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pillars. They’re just the right combination of interesting and mindless to be a perfect everyday commute/chatting/staff meeting/reading kind of project. I recommend!
Definitely count me in for the giveaway; the book sounds wonderful, and a great resource for a (hopefully) soon-to-be Catholic like me. Thank you for the opportunity!
Claudia Daniel says
How I would love to win this book. I am grandmother to homeschoolers, mother of a canon lawyer, have met David, and heard a lecture given by him. I’ve been an iconographer, try to be a faithful Catholic, and this book would take me into Lent! Praying that I win!
Mary McGuinness says
I would love to win the book giveaway as I am hoping to own this book anyway. But I believe I won the big prize already when I found this lovely website. Thank you for being who you are and sharing it with all of us.
Mama Rachael says
Looks like a good book. I’d enjoy reading it and I have a friend who I know would enjoy it also.
the socks look great… I’m a tad jealous. Sure you aren’t willing to giveway a pair of such socks?
Cary S. says
Would love this book! We pray the Morning Office with our priests after Mass, but have not gotten to the rest of it alone! Thanks for the opportunity.
Anne says
That sounds like such a good book. We pray “Prime” most mornings, but I have this feeling that I’m not really getting it…
Christy says
I love tweed yarn!
And that book looks great!
Wanda says
Good afternoon! Just love those red socks and oh my!….. Those cables!
I have tried for years to understand how to pray the Offering without success. If there is a learner’s guide them I am all over it. Winning it would be wonderful!( but I will purchase it if I don’t )
Yarn Along is a favorite of mine! But I must get together pics today for PHFR. Back to back posting days are never easy….. I think I can…..I think I can……!
Nicole Centeno says
I’ve had my breviary since high school but only really say night prayer because it requires the least amount of flipping back and forth.
Betsy M says
Well I am eagerly awaiting your book but in the mean time I would love to win that book (but will be putting it on my Amazon wish list just in case I do not). I don’t know if it is because of the cold or PPD or what but my prayer life needs a jump start. Oh, and what adorable socks. I love the colors!
june says
I can’t tell you how excited I am about your book! I have always felt like there is such a disconnected tbetween families and the church. I could sense we were missing an important part of spiritual family life…life with the Church. Thank u for this unique bridge you are offering families!
Alanna says
I have always been interested in the Liturgy of the Hours. It is on my Christmas list (yes, for 2014 )!
Heather says
I love the socks! Red and brown do go so well together. And I am very interested in the book as I’ve tried multiple times to start praying The Liturgy of The Hours and feel like I really need some guidance to make a successful go of it.
Kate says
I was looking for a “back on the horse” project for Lent. The Hours would be perfect!!
Lindsay K says
I keep seeing this book around and I’m in intrigued by it. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
Renee says
I would LOVE to win that book! And I’m very impressed with your socks, too!
Jen says
I’d love to win 🙂 and I’m so looking forward to your book coming out as well!
Heather says
I adore the colors on the socks! I am very intersted in the book even though I’m not catholic. I am very intrigued and my prayers could use some direction.
Deanne says
I would love to have a more purposeful prayer life rather than the “help me out here, I am a mess!” variety that has been my signature to this point. So I’ve commented!! P.S. I think that yarn bowl is the BEST.
Sarah r says
Would love this book, and plan on buying your new book as well. What a nice accompaniment!
Kim F. says
I would love to win, thanks for the opportunity! Could you have a giveaway for a pair of hand-knit socks? Pretty please?
Theresa Anne says
The socks are amazing… I want to learn to knit and crochet and quilt (and many other arts) but until God opens a window of time I will file these lovely little ideas away until the opportunity presents itself and enjoy the projects I can do right now.
I recently was able to upgrade to a smart phone and the only app I have purchased thus far is the Divine Office…a great fit until the time comes when I can invest in the books. While I am not able to pray all the prayers each day it is a blessing to experience the morning and night prayers most days.
Have you thought about using your new book as a Lenten study?
Melissa says
I would love to win this book! (Although, I do have to say, I was hoping it would be your book. Maybe for the next giveaway?)
huppicke says
I would love to read the book. But can it be shipped to Germany?
Suzanne says
I need that book. The liturgy of the hours sounds like it would do so much good for my spirit, and yet it seems just so complicated…and I’m sure it really isn’t when explained properly. Thanks for the chance to win.
Kristi says
Yet another reason I want you to adopt me, Auntie Leila. Your knitting, I mean. Love the socks. Would like the book, too.
Sarah says
The book sounds like a wonderful mini reading retreat to welcome Lent among the daily duties of motherhood. The bowl is so beautiful as well as my daughter’s favorite color. Thank your for you wisdom and inspiration over the past year when I joined you email listing.
Eva says
I would love this book and am looking forward to reading yours. Knitting or reading; that is always the question.
Anne says
Great socks! I started my first pair of socks but am too wimpy to turn the heel….
Anyway, thanks for entering me in the drawing! I already preordered the little oratory.
Libbi says
Yay giveaway! I’m so excited about your book (my husband was like, what did you order? the moment I mentioned I found you through Catholic Culture and it was yours, he was sold). And goodness knows, this former Theology major loves resources 🙂
Linda says
I am in desperate need of help in the area of personal prayer. I get the communal prayer and enjoy the Liturgy of the Hours when I’m on retreat at a local Cistertian monastery but here at home with the kids, my individual prayer life is sadly lacking. I love to read spiritual books…maybe reading a spiritual book about prayer will help :).
Alea says
I would love to learn more about the liturgy of the hours. I’ve looked online before, but it’s never very straightforward. So I have your assurance that I will “get it” and I hope to win so I can get started! Thanks!
Robin says
Would love to win this book! My prayer life could use a change-up!
Sara says
I love your blog and I would love to win the book!
Ali says
awesome…i would love to learn to do the Liturgy
Mary Cameron says
Ooh, would really love the book. It is on my list, too.
Hint: before allowing yourself to go to any websites in the evening, go to Universalis.com or one of the other Divine Office websites and pray Vespers.
Same thing in the AM – pray Morning Prayer at Universalis before opening your email.
It’s a safe bet that most people look at their computers twice a day. Pray first. Then you won’t forget.
Mary Catherine says
I love the Office! My favorite is the Office Readings because of . . . well . . . the readings. And also because there’s no time of day requirement, so when I actually get to pull out the volumes, I have never missed it!
Janet says
Thanks for the giveaway! Love the socks and the bowl.
Faith says
I’ve always been intimidated by the Liturgy of the Hours, and struggled to figure out how to pray it. I’m sure Daria’s book would be a great help!
Katie says
Leila I just love your advice. You are a source of strong encouragement and provide a much needed sanity check for this -Catholic convert- homeschooling -didn’t know how to cook a piece of meat before I was married -gal. (It seems that so much of the mystery to cooking/planning is all about the meat!)
I look forward to reading your book, and since having my fifth baby I have remembered your advice of if you have the food and laundry under control you will all survive and even thrive! (Along with a shower, some prayer time and a smile for your husband at the end of the day.) Thank you.
Jessica says
My husband has had a set of the Liturgy since before we were married and I have always been too afraid to open them. Perhaps this Lent!
Those socks make me want to knit. Too many things, not enough time, and no teacher!
Gwenny says
I most definitely think you should do more giveaways featuring your adorable crafting! Also, really excited about the book and will probably buy anyway. 🙂
Tracy says
Beautiful socks. I love the colors. And please count me in on the giveaway.
Christina says
Awwww….thanks for the link Auntie Leila. I’m so glad the yarn bowl is coming in handy. The boys were very happy to commission it for you. Let us know if you need another for a give-away! SO happy to ramp up any traffic to our favorite blog. : ) I’m heading over to Amazon now to put in my pre-order for the book!
Stephanie says
This is so fun! You are always so good to us! I prayed the liturgy of the hours with a very musical family once and I’m amazed at how many versions one can sing “Alleluia ” …all so very holy beautiful
Maria C. says
YES! A book on my wishlist!
Kristin says
Anxiously awaiting you new book! This book looks good too. I need a guide to learn the Liturgy of the Hours!
Carolyn says
I would love to win! I’ve been trying to figure out how to include the daily prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours into our crazy schedule with 6 kids ages 2 -14. I’ve only made it as far as Morning Prayer by myself using the online resources. We’ve been saying one decade of the rosary after dinner recently….you are such an inspiration to keep trying, keep plugging along. I’m hoping to receive your new book for my 40th birthday in a couple weeks…if not I plan to buy it anyway – looks wonderful :)! You are such an inspiration and have helped me so much with our domestic faith life. Thank you for your blog and all you do.
Lorelei says
Pick me!!!
Jodie says
Would love your book. Thanks for the offer!
Dianna says
What an interesting book!
Mary B says
I am waiting for your book without much patience! I would love to have this book to go along with it.
You are the mother I wish I had! You and your family are such an inspiration of what family can be!
Maureen says
That book looks fantastic! I’d love to win!
Those socks look so cozy. I only crochet but there’s nothing better than cables!
Shaina says
A book?
I think I need to read it! Thank you.
Janet says
We have been introducing the Liturgy of the Hours to the RCIA group in our parish and would love to give them this book as a “graduation” present! I would also love a copy myself – I’ve already pre-ordered “The Little Oratory”.
Robyn says
I have had that book on my wishlist for some time now.
Those are some great socks! I am knitting a vest for my toddler and it is the first time I have tried cables.
Barbara says
The first time I read the beginning of your post I read that you were giving away a sock knitting book and I decided I didn’t need another. Ugh. Is this February brain or old brain? Good think I came back. And what brought me back was that bowl — I must investigate that further, but first I had to enter for the book contest — a book I really DO need!
Barbara says
PS love your red socks. I bet The Artist loved them, too. Hand knit socks are one of the best things in life (especially in a really cold winter). I have never cabled. Not enough active brain cells left, as evidenced by my previous comment.
Mamabearjd says
I read the book after I downloaded the Divine Office app and didn’t understand it. What a transformation in my day! I just wanted to add that there are a couple of phone/tablet apps, the one I have is called Divine Office and was pricey, but I do use it daily. The portability is great for a mother of small children.
Karen in SC says
I would love to have that book!
Julie says
This book looks great and I can’t wait to read yours as well!
Libby Jane says
Seven-Day Magic–love!
Socks–scrumptious!
Your recommendations are spot-on!
Elizabeth says
My husband and I used to do morning and evening prayer together before we had children, and have been wanting to reincorporate more daily prayer into our day, so would love the book to help us along! Although we might have to get it ourselves regardless (and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of your book as well) 🙂 Love the socks! I’ve started learning how to crochet and am enjoying it a lot, but one of these days I really want to learn to knit in particular so I can learn to knit socks.
Tabitha says
I would love the book!
Katie P says
In college, a nearby church offered a Sunday evening Compline service. Candles everywhere, a men’s choir intoning Gregorian harmony, the invitation to sit/lie/walk anywhere in the sanctuary as one’s reflections led . . . a lovely gift to those in the university community who came.
And on the chatty side, yesterday I dipped into the archives to consult your “creamy veggie soup” process for lunch. On an icy Southern day, we needed a warming meal as well as to clear some fridge veggies. Thanks for the pointers, especially about adding a bit of meat– delicious. My husband declared it the best he’d ever had, and the baby ate her whole bowlful too. Snow day success, and leftovers for today!
Mary says
I am totally in for the book drawing. I would love to know where I can purchase a bowl like this??
Tiffany says
Pick me! Pick me! I am, after all, trying to get this crew of mine to heaven and I need all the help I can get!
Molly says
We would love the book, and the socks are great! I love looking at your knitting projects, and am amazed at how fast you seem to produce them
Annie B says
I would love a copy!
Rae says
Socks seem a little beyond my level of knitting, but the book sounds awesome!
Kristen says
I wish you were giving away those wonderful socks! I would love a copy of Ms. Sockey’s book. I already have a few people in mind to share it with!
Anni says
Those socks look fantastic!!
Mary Grimm says
Love your blog! And would love the book!
Amy Haakenson says
I was *just* wondering about your book and how it was coming along. Congratulations! I look forward to reading it 🙂 Also, please count me in as a hopeful contestant for the give away.
Sarah Craggs says
I would love a copy! I’m looking forward to your book too.
Amy M. says
I’d love to win the book. I’m currently using The Divine Hours series by Phyllis Tickle to guide my morning prayer (no vespers, mid-day or compline yet- one thing at a time!) but I’m slightly disappointed that there is no special series for Lent, though there was one for Advent and there will be one for Holy Week. Daria’s book seems like an excellent resource for learning more about this style of prayer.
JC-Deo Gratias says
The book sounds like a wonderful resource, and I’d love to have it. I’ve ordered The Little Oratory, but would love this one to go along with it. I feel that I have so much catching up to do–looking forward to being baptized at Easter vigil–and praying the liturgy of the hours is something I absolutely want to do. So far, I’ve been consistent with the Office of Readings and the last prayer of the evening, but haven’t gotten the rest worked in yet. Just that much has made such a difference in my day.
Love the socks, too. The colors definitely work–I’m a fan of marrying compatibles, whether or not they are on the official matchmaking list;-). And I love using what is on hand.
Sahron says
I would love to win the book. I love the socks, more of a quilter not a knitter, but I can appreciate it! Thank you!
Erika says
I would really love to win that lovely book!
Emily B says
Ah Liturgy of the hours.. For some reason it always seemed really complicated to me, would love a chance to peek into this book 🙂
Ashley says
Thanks for the giveaway!
I’ve decided we need a grandma or aunt who likes to sew or knit, but alas none of ours are very handy. Your children and grandchildren are blessed!
Lorna says
My Nana (grandmother) used to knit the very best socks… yours brought back good memories.
I’d love to win the book. I read Elizabeth Foss’s blog, and it’s gradually seeping into my consciousness that the secret to her strength lies in her devotion to the Liturgy of the Hours. I’ve tried to wrap my head around it, but either it’s too big, my head’s too little, or I’m going about it the wrong way!
cmerie says
I would love to win. And socks! I might learn to knit just for the socks.
Jessica Passmore says
Love your blog! And I’d love to check out the book too!
Sharon E. says
Thank you for offering this giveaway. I must sheepishly admit that while I am a cradle catholic, I lack any and all understanding of the liturgy of the hours. This has been a compounding issue for me since my husband converted three years ago. I feel that for him to improve his prayer life I must be a better example.
Michelynne says
Oh heavens, so many comments. I would love to win the book. My husband of 6 years got me a brievary for a wedding gift with the intention of his desire we pray it together. It has been something I have struggled with for a long time, and while we have tried, it just seems I can’t get my heart and head into it; part of it is because I think I dont understand it, and the other is that it feels so repetitive and formal sometimes I find it hard. I have felt for a long time that my difficulty with the brievary means that theree is something I can learn from it and that it is something I would benefit from, and also give my hubby great joy. So I would really love to win and I am so intrigued if I dont I may go buy it anyway. Thanks Like Mother Like Daughter!
Lynn says
I have been trying to learn how to do the LOTH for a couple of years, but get so confused with what you are supposed to do when…so much of it isn’t in the Breviary, you are just supposed to know to do or say it. I have had this book on my wish list on Amazon for some time, debating back and forth. Yes, I tend to overanalyze that way!
Love the socks! I have only ever done one pair for the hubby. He only wanted a solid color, and those huge black socks were so stinkin boring to knit!!! 🙂
KathyB says
I took a 2 hour class on the LOTH about a year ago. It was great but I need more info – this book looks so helpful!
Sara says
I am just beginning to practice the liturgy of the hours. This book would be a wonderful help along the path!
Shauna says
I would love to win this book! I do not know how to pray the Liturgy so this would be so helpful.
Thank you and God bless you!
Shauna 🙂
Clara says
I would love to win the book. I have already preordered your book (I’m really looking forward to reading it).
I can use a boost to my prayer life… I have been struggling with daily prayer lately. This might help. 🙂
Also, seeing your socks is inspiring me to try knotting my first pair.
Lisa says
Include me, please! Love the knitting. Think I’ll crochet a bit now with such lovely inspiration. I recently found a decent sock pattern! Not always easy in crochet.
Christi says
I would love to be entered! Thank you for hosting this…and I love chatting here
Megan says
I’ve recently started praying the Liturgy of the Hours and Daria Sockey’s book would be a great help!
Laura says
Hello! I have never commented on your wonderful blog, but I am a faithful reader and fan. I was one of Deirdre’s “Reaganettes” from back in the day at CUA! I would love to win the book-been trying to pick up Liturgy of the Hours for a long time now! Thank you!
Ann Marie says
This non-Catholic would love to have this book. I need more Liturgy in my life.
monica says
Ohhhh, thanks for the chance to win!
Carol Kennedy says
That sounds like a great book by Doria Sockey! I am already pre-ordering your book!!
Jennifer Short says
My boyfriend and I are trying to get in the habit of praying together. This would be fantastic!
Lynn says
Yes, please, toss my name in as one who would really enjoy and use a copy of that book!
Amy says
Thank you for the generous giveaway chance! Please count me in.
Ona says
Oh I would love to win this book! Thanks for this wonderful giveaway Leila!
Dyan Schisler says
I would like to win the book, but I noticed the bowl right away. What a great idea for knitters!
kara says
That book is just what I need! Love your site, too!!! Thanks for the offer.
