This is literally it.
This is all I can manage!
But wow, thanks for stopping by! You are so good to refrain from crossing us off your list forever!
We are still celebrating, cooking, cleaning up, staying up too late to play games and watch It's a Wonderful Life (we saw it in the colorized version this year — and do I lose my curmudgeonly grumpy card of tenacious traditionalism if I say I sort of enjoyed it?), and chasing babies.
I have lots to tell you and nothing at all. If my utterly scrambled mind could unscramble for a bit, I'd have some things to say, but as it is, all I can manage is a wildly inaccurate inventory of my two fridges' contents, running in a loop in my head. (There is food everywhere, which is a good thing as it's supposed to snow like heck.)
Enjoy your last few days of holiday (I mean from work/school, not from us, although come to think of it… ) and we will try to be back in full force next week.
I will try to have some New Year's thoughts — sorry for linking to that post yet again! Still, that's what we're about here — just doing all those things that seem too silly to mention when everyone else is apparently homesteading in a yurt while baby-wearing triplets and live-tweeting their final ascent of the spiritual mountain of holiness. Not that I'd have anything against that.
We'll get back to {pretty, happy, funny, real}* — awesome how we didn't even warn you that we were taking a break, because that is how stunned I suddenly was by having every one of my children arrive — it was like, thinking ahead, no can do. On the other hand, and looking at the bright side, you really can tell that our posts are pretty much not canned.
And maybe even that third secret to destruction-proofing your family (yea, four secrets do I have to tell you! But I'll try not to keep you hanging!).

You have another week to ponder and go for it, thanks to dwindling brain cells over here!

Enjoy your snowfall and all that good food, we've also been deep in the family game/puzzle mindset and it has been wonderful!
Thank you for emailing with me last year (I was kathrynscheib@gmail) but had to change my account due to a security breach. We have had a wonderful start to homeschooling our youngest and will return to homeschooling our older school aged kids next Fall – I treasure all your links and advice given here. It has been shared quite a bit with my husband who also would love for you to come to North Texas for a talk (wish we could fund that ourselves). God Bless and best wishes to your family in the coming year. Thank you Leila!

There is no such thing as too many pictures! I can hardly wait! Many blessings and the very Happiest New Year to you all! Sheryl from Puget Sound

Merry Christmas to LMLD and prayers for the New Year. I came here looking for something to send to my aunt and cousin(my cousin just had a baby in October!). Glad to hear that you are enjoying these days as we are; with family and totally off of our schedule, playing games and visiting relatives.
Thanks for all that you ladies share. God bless.

Leila! Ditto on all the above good wishes and sentiments for you and your (extended) family this New Year! And it's not just *your* brain cells on overload (in the most delightful way, however!) – Quick survey with like-aged mother friends here in Ohio places you in good company! 🙂 (That's meant to be reassuring!) And as for the weather coming your way: we're enjoying the snowstorm – and passing it on to you!
Also – just wondering – do you have a quick link to the 3rd Secret to Destruction-Proofing Your Family that I might share? (Found the first and second)

When I purchased my favorite movie, My Man Godfrey with Carole Lombard, it came with the b&w and colorized versions. I allowed myself to watch the colorized, since I had faithfully seen the black and white many times. I liked it, too! You are allowed to like it! (says me, anyway) Happy New Year, and Merry Christmas.

I'm so happy you had all your family around you this Christmas. I kept popping over to see if you're all back. Now it makes sense why no one was posting, you're all having so much time with each other! Happy New Year!

I am in the last few years of being able to take for granted that all my children will be here for Christmas. It was the most amazing feeling, looking down the pew on Christmas Eve, and seeing how our little tribe filled the whole pew.
Happy New Year to all of you. Love how you all can rock an apron!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all you LMLD ladies. I have shared your posts about Advent with a number of my friends and hope they've been edified just as much as I have.
Enjoy your snow, which I envy. Living in Minnesota, I would rather by far have the deep snow than the Arctic temps — today's high, 0 degrees. We're all drinking more than we ought, just to stay warm.

So great to hear about a normal family doing normal Christmas things! I think it is great not to hear from people for two weeks over Christmas- it means they are properly celebrating the season. But I look forward to the “resumption of normal service” ! Happy New Year to you all and thanks for the excellent blog, a real life saver 🙂

It sounds like you are having a lovely holiday! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (We also saw the colorized version of 'It's A Wonderful Life' this year.)
