I finally got my Advent decorations together – I was paralyzed by the fact that I couldn't for the life of me find purple and pink candles until halfway through the first week of Advent. And even then, I only found any because I went out in the midst of a Northern Virginia “snowstorm,” when everyone else was cowering at home in fear, leaving me the one (count 'em: one) pink candle at Michael's.
So at long last, today I brought a plastic bag and some scissors on our walk, scandalized Lorraine by snipping bits of greenery all around our neighborhood, and put our wreath together this evening.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! (here are two pictures, so you can admire it adequately)
The red berries I had found actually didn't end up going with everything else (funny – before I finished this wreath, I would've said that red berries went with everything, sort of like a black cardigan). I found another use for them, though, sprucing up around our creche, which you can see above set up in our “fireplace.”
And this is just a picture so you can see the sofa we found on the side of the road the other day. Not bad, eh? (it's the one on the left)

Wow, how peaceful and pretty it all is! So nice… I love the decorations, and the sofas look great together! Good job being an urban forager!

let's see the Epiphany decorations now.

If by Epiphany decorations you mean the baby Jesus in the manger, the Wise Men at the stable, and cream candles instead of pink and purple in the wreath, then I think you wouldn't be very impressed.if, on the other hand, you mean my papers strewn ALL over the world in preparation for writing student evaluations, then pictures could be forthcoming…

I'll show you my mess if you show me yours!
